| There's no point in having
your own web site if no one can find it when they search for what they want.
With more than 300 million web sites in use world wide and new ones being
added at the rate of more than 1 million a week, when customers
use
Google or
Yahoo to search for information, they only tend to look at the
first two to three pages of search results. If your site does not achieve a decent
'ranking' in the various web search statistics, no one will even see it, let
alone pay a visit.
To give you an
example, if you sell ink jet printer cartridges in Lincolnshire, there are
3,475 web sites that currently come up, when you type "inkjet cartridges,
Lincolnshire" into the search bar on Google, so how do you get your site in
the top 20 or 30 that are listed? You could opt for what is called 'paid
submission', where you pay a fee to each major search engine to list you in
their own directory (Google, Yahoo,
Ask Jeeves, Lycos, Alta Vista etc), which in theory at least will improve
your chances of ranking more highly. The cost of this
varies from between £75 to £500 per search engine per year and incredibly, paying them
guarantees you nothing if you read the small print! Unless you are a large
company, the cost of this is prohibitive. 78% of people searching the
web today, use either Google or Yahoo, and paid submission is simply not a
cost effective option in either case. .
We have the experience and
knowledge to help you improve your web ranking. Unlike many company's we start during the web
design stage, by looking at the keywords used in the text of your web,
comparing them to successful sites already highly ranked and emulating the
same thing, even down to naming images being used with keywords where
possible. We take care to word the text of your web site so key words are
repeated as often as possible whilst still retaining sensible keyword density
and neatly worded pages. From there we can provide a
search engine optimisation service that will ensure your site becomes noticed.
This is website marketing and website promotion. We do this by manually submitting your website to the
15 search engines that
matter, adding new content on a regular basis for the first six months,
arranging for your site to be included in quality industry directories and a
number of other ways.

It doesn't end there. To get high rankings
on Google and Yahoo, their search engine software looks for specific
things as it crawls and indexes the world wide web, such as regularly updated
content of more than 250 new words per month, how many other sites link into
or point to your web and a number of other unique things that we know all
about. It is possible to achieve a high ranking for almost any web
site, given this knowledge and a little time, but it won't happen overnight
and no one in this industry can guarantee your ranking - if they say they
can, they are lying.
Typically, if you do nothing about ranking,
a new web site can take between 6 months and 1 year to become ranked and then
only poorly where no one will see it. Take action to promote and market
your website and you could see
your site in the top fifty page rankings inside 4 to 6 months and with
constant work, your site could get to the top twenty to thirty after 6 months.
This site developed a Google "page-rank" after being live for 5 weeks! This
however, took considerable effort on our part.
There is no real shortcut
to achieving decent web ranking, anyone who tells you there is, is making things up.
Also, don't be fooled by companies offering to submit your site to 3,000 or
5,000 search engines, it's both a complete waste of time and in the case of
Google and Yahoo, more likely to harm any web rankings you may have with
them. If anyone promises to get your site ranked number #1 on Google, MSN or
any search engine in 48 hours, they are quite simply lying! Not everyone
can be at number 1!
There are only a very few search engines its either worthwhile or necessary to submit to, you just need to know which ones and how to build
a website that will eventually feature highly in their search results. For tips about increasing your ranking
